A cover letter, brief yet strong,

Shouldn’t ramble or go too long.

Its purpose is clear: to pave the way,

For your resume’s story to have its say.

Highlight the gems, the brightest parts,

The skills, achievements, the passion that starts.

Share the goals that align with their need,

Show them how you’re the right fit indeed.

But more than just skills or degrees you own,

Let your excitement be genuinely shown.

Speak from the heart of what drew you here,

The role, their mission, why it feels sincere.

For when people see your honest thrill,

Your effort, your care, and your will,

They respond with kindness, they lean in close,

To learn of the candidate who cares the most.

So pick the pieces that make you shine,

Show how your story connects to theirs, align.

Let the letter invite, like a knock at the door,

Welcoming them to explore you more.

Short and sweet, yet vivid and true,

Your passion will speak volumes about you.

For effort, excitement, and heart on display,

Can turn their interest your way.
