Before the words of skill and feat,

Begin your letter with warmth to greet.

Picture the reader, a soul like you,

A human with tasks and dreams to pursue.

Start with a hello that comes from the heart,

A moment of kindness, a genuine start.

For even in text, connection can bloom,

Bringing light to their day, dispelling the gloom.

Then shift your focus to their domain,

The company’s mission, its purpose, its aim.

Show that you see their values and drive,

Their vision for growth, how they strive to thrive.

Speak of their impact, the good they’ve done,

The challenges faced, the battles won.

This is the “you,” the respect you convey,

To honor their work in a heartfelt way.

Next comes the “me,” where your story unfolds,

The skills you bring, the strengths you hold.

But it’s not just about what you can do,

It’s how you align with their vision too.

Finally, “us,” the partnership’s start,

How you and the company can play a part.

Together, achieving goals side by side,

A shared journey with purpose as the guide.

So remember, your cover letter must convey,

A human warmth in a thoughtful way.

Start with a greeting, let kindness lead,

And show how your goals and theirs intercede.
